The One About the Shoes and the Album

Okay, so today was a pretty good day, right? Copped new shoes, a new album, and got to bum around with Karlo for the first time in a while, which was cool.

The auspiciousness started out last night, when I found out that I didn't have a Physics lab today, which meant I didn't have to do any Physics work that night. Sweet. So I chillaxed for a bit, and got some work done on my essay, which I'm slowly chipping away at. Here's hoping to me finishing it by 4AM this morning.

Anywho, concocted my walk-around-the-City plan to take advantage of my early finish. In light of my gambling victory over the father, the mother gave me permission to look around for a new pair of kicks. Awesome.

Anyways, rocked up to Physics in the morning, and fuck it's boring. I seriously can't stay awake in it. I don't know if it's just because of the early morning lectures, but remaining focused is a bitch and a half. Right afterwards was my Psych experiment, which was fun. I got to watch a clip from Bruce Almighty (the part where Bruce makes Evan stuff up over and over again...I lika...do...da cha cha.) as part of the experiment, and got $20 at the end of it as well. Seeing as labs were off, I was finished by 12:45PM, so I had a lot of extra time on my hands. Perfect for a long-winded walk around the CBD.

Inauspicious start; bus ended up skipping the stop closest to Espionage, meaning I had to walk for an extra 5-10 minutes up Oxford St. Worth it though, seeing as I found sick shit at both Espionage and Footage. Highlights:

  • Jordan Dunks at Espionage
  • Team Editions at 99 Degrees
  • BAPE jacket at Espionage (same pattern as in pic, but as a hoodie; sigh..$600..then again, I told Ma it can just be my Christmas present )
  • New shirts at Footage and Espionage
  • Black and Purple SBs, but nothing in my size

After that, walked all the way down to George St. to look for shoes around World Tower. Nothing at Hype, but SP3 had the Barcelonas. Sadly, no size. I was considering the Grey and Purple Team Editions at the other store as well, but decided against it. As such, it was off to Nitrogen. Now, I didn't really have high hopes about this store, but they'd been getting better shit in recent weeks. Couldn't find a good pair of SBs, but I did find the Ice Cream Board Flips. Fonz copped the pink/red pair, which were cool, but not as hot fire as the blue colourway. I tried the 8.5s on, and loved em, and was thisclose to copping them (as in, they were boxed, ready to be paid for), when I turned around and saw these beasts. Yeah, baby. As such, I went home with a new pair of Air Jordan IVs. I would've copped the Grape AJVs instead, but no size for those either. Sigh. Ahh well.

New shoes found, it was off to JB HiFi to look for DVDs. Wildboyz seasons 1 and 2 were still close to $30 each, so I skimped on those. Just before I walked out, I turned around and looked for Lupe's album, which I'd been scouring record shops for for the last week or so. Again, low expectations. Luckily, it was actually there. Sweet. Probably the sickest album cover I've seen in a while, as well.

Anywho, after all that, I made my way home. Just as I got to my stop, I gave Karl a buzz and suggested an impromptu hangout at his house, and he obliged. Pretty cool, seeing as I hadn't been to his house in about four months or so. Afterwards, he drove me home. I uploaded Food and Liquor, re-laced my new kicks (as always) and went to sleep. It's almost 2AM now; perfect essay-writing time. I'm seriously at my best around this time of the day. I don't know why, but it works for me, so I guess I've got a date with Microsoft Word. Anyways, later days!

END COMMUNICATION.
