The One with the Almost Awesome

What it do? Today was a long-ass, tiring day, but it was still a good day, all things considered. Even though it wasn't perfect (more on this later), it was still good considering it's the holidays, and not much has been happening around here lately.

Anywho! Biggest thing for the day was me getting my Ps. AWESOME. Am now officially allowed to drive as maniacally as I please (okay, so reckless driving's still illegal, but at least I get to disregard SOME road rules). I consider myself very lucky to have my Ps right now, for a number of reasons (bullet points, ahoy!):
  • I only did about 20-25 hours worth of driving, less than half the number required before actually taking the exam. The rest of the hours on the log were pretty much faked. Hoorizzle dizzle.
  • I haven't read the rule book, AT ALL. The closest I got was signing the thing near the front, and maybe checking the things that I hadn't satisfactorily completed.
  • My instructor told me that I BARELY passed; barely as in, had I messed up another time or two, I would've failed. I was actually pissing myself because I thought I'd failed after hitting (well, it was more like slightly touching) the gutter not once, but TWICE (thank you, reverse park and kerbside stop). Maybe my instructor was in a giving mood and let me get away with it. Or maybe he realised that it was MART taking the test, and to not regard him as awesome is just about the stupidest thing anyone can do. Either way, I passed. Thanks to my instructor, Victor! (Although, I do realise there's NO WAY in the world that he would ever read this blog.)

Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is this: yes, children, there is a point to all the cheating! Lie, cheat, steal! You DO get rewarded in the end!

After the passing (and the subsequent license photo-taking), my instructor dropped me home, and I took some time to just chill. Soon enough, Mike decided to drop by and chill with me. We played a bit of ball (with him choosing barefoot over thongs; blisters were HIS reward for the day), then played 2K7 for a bit. Then he actually felt like playing NBA Live 07 on PS2, which is just about wins the award for most extreme transition between games, in terms of both quality, and overall tendency to make Mart puke in disgust.

Anywho, he didn't stay long, and I took some time to kick back (not like I haven't done that enough) and enjoy the game. Okay, THIS was why the day wasn't perfect. Lakers - Knicks, at Staples. Should be an easy win for LA, right?

...And the survey says: "DUMBASS!"

Final score: NY 107, LA 106. The Lakers lost at home. By a point. To the Knicks.

!!!

Was seriously frustrated during the game. I screamed alot throughout the course of the whole thing (good thing no one was home), but the final minute, when the game-winning alley went down? And the final possession, when Kobe couldn't/didn't get the ball, and Lamar threw up an airball?

...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways! After taking my frustration out on random household items, Mike picked me up and we headed down to Emerton for a couple of hours of pickup ball. Good times; I played better than I thought I would, and it was cool to just get out there and get a good run in. One thing though, I could barely run up the floor towards the end, thanks to the COMPLETE LACK OF BLISTERS on my feet. Ouch. Ahh well, wouldn't trade it for anything...except new shoes.

In other news, I forgot to mention this in my previous entries, but Karl reformatted my lappy lap, on a whim. He says it's to get me to play WoW, but right now, I just can't be fucked playing games that actually require commitment (FFXII is an exception though; salivation check: pool around feet ).

Anywho, everything seems to be in perfect working order; in fact, it actually runs a bit smoother, and my connection's been perfect so far. Only thing's been the sound being a bit weird. Oh, and even though all the file information for my iTunes library stayed intact (GINORMOUS sigh of relief), I DID still have to reopen all the MP3 files that iTunes couldn't find. After ONLY three days worth of work, it's finally back to 99% normal. I say 99% 'cause I think I accidentally deleted one of the songs as I got caught up in all the folder-opening fun. But no, I will NOT be obsessive-compulsive about this and rack my brains trying to figure out which of the 4094 songs I accidentally deleted.

...Okay, so I'll do it in the morning.

That should do. Here's hoping I get to drive by myself sometime soon. Anyways, later days!

P.S. If your net actually managed to make it through that, then I wholeheartedly congratulate you on being LUCKY. Sigh, your net sucks. YOU suck.

END COMMUNICATION.
