The One with the Death by Second Year

What it do? Fuck me dead, my last three weeks of Uni are looking GREAT. (Damnit, doesn't Multiply at least have an eye-roll emoticon? EUCH!)

Annewhoose, from the Friday of Week 12 until the very end of Semester, I have seven (SEVEN!!!!!) assessments due. Woot, hooray for Second Year! No assessments for the first 6 weeks, then BAM! Say goodbye to your LIFE!

  • PSYC2081 Neuroanatomy & Neural Communication Test (5%) - Friday, May 25
  • GENT1513 Essay (50%...FIFTY PERCENT! WTF, MAYNE?!) - Monday, May 28
  • PSYC2081 Essay (20%) - Thursday, May 31
  • GENT1513 Seminar Presentation (30%) - Thursday, May 31
  • PSYC2061 Essay (20%) - Thursday, June 7
  • PSYC2001 Assignment 2 (20%) - Thursday, June 7
  • GENT1513 Critical Review of Literature (20%) - Friday, June 8

The first one isn't too bad; it's only worth 5%. BUT! A 50% essay?! WTF is with this Gen Ed course?! Why does it require MORE work than all of my other courses? And dangnammit, that Seminar Presentation has to go for about 10-15 minutes. EUCH! Ahh well.

This only means one thing: it's time to get my swagger on. Can't fuck with me, MAYNE! Anyways, later days!

The One with the Change of Clothes

Death Cab for Cutie - Photobooth

I remember when the days were long
And the nights when the living room was on the lawn
Constant quarrelling, the childish fits
And our clothes in a pile on the ottoman
All the slander and double-speak
Were only foolish attempts to show you did not mean
Anything but the blatant proof was your lips touching mine in the photobooth

And as the summer's ending
The cool air will put your hard heart away
You were so condescending
And this is all that's left
Scraping paper to document
I've packed a change of clothes and it's time to move on

Cup your mouth to compress the sound
Skinny dipping with the kids from a nearby town
And everything that I said was true
As the flashes blinded us in the photobooth
Well, I lost track, and then those words were said
You took the wheel and you steered us into my bed
Soon we woke, and I walked you home
And it was pretty clear that it was hardly love

And as the summer's ending
The cool air will put your hard heart away
You were so condescending
And this is all that's left
Scraping paper to document
I've packed a change of clothes and it's time to move on

And as the summer's ending
The cool air will put your hard heart away
You were so condescending
As the alcohol drained the days

And as the summer's ending
The cool air will put your hard heart away
You were so condescending
And this is all that's left
The empty bottles, spent cigarettes
I've packed a change of clothes and it's time to move on

What it do? Crashing down from my birthday "high" pretty hard. First, my first fail in 38 weeks of Uni. Well, it was for an optional test, but still. Fuck. Then, realised how messed up my last three weeks of semester are looking. Finally, that one last look. Bingo.

Ahh well, gotta roll with the punches. See you all in July. Anyways, later days.

The One Last Look

Anyone else remember this? Hmm. I sure don't.

Nope. This doesn't still bug me at all.

It's not about her, it's about the idea of what it used to be. Comprende?

Oh well. Maybe in another time, place, space. Maybe when things work out the way they do in movies. I can't be mad, though. Sometime, in the future, maybe?

Crap, I'm coming down from that birthday "high" pretty hard.

ADDENDUM: Wow, just found that Formal pic just then. It's probably our most 'proper' pic; funnily enough, it was taken on the day after we broke up.
