Ahh, Friends marathons. Such an easy way to kill a day. Without any hyperbolic overexaggerreaction whatsoever, I think I've seen every single episode about ten BILLION times each, to the point where I (usually) know the episode's jokes inside and out, in chronomalogical orders.
Throughout the three years worth of endless DVD repeats, I started to realise that I had something in common with each of the main six, in one way or another. Some people relate their personalities to one specific TV character, but it's more fun with a whole ensemble. Anywho, on with it.
- Ross: fascination with science/math; love for DINOSAURS (BIG BIG similarity); bad luck with women ("Three divorces! Three divorces!"); inability to flirt ("If it makes you feel any better, I happen to like eight-year-old boys."); somewhat exaggerated rage issues ("You threw my sandwich away? MY sandwich? MY SANDWICH?!"); ALWAYS has to be right; doesn't know when to shut up (Ross' trademark habit); brief drug experimentation period; excessive neuroticism/trust issues; excessive whining
- Rachel: materialism; being spoiled; usually self-absorbed; lack of culinary skills ("She made half an English trifle and half a Shepherd's Pie!"); supposedly the same birthday
- Phoebe: random eccentricities; general airheadedness/childishness; animal rights (although I do love my meat); flakiness
- Joey: naivety; Scarface poster; basketball fanaticism (tenuous, as Joey tends to like all sports equally, and not just basketball); loyalty and devotion to friends ("If I had to, I'd pee on any one of you!"); immaturity ("Playing a little PlayStation, huh? That's wack. PlayStation is wack! Sup with the wack PlayStation, sup?!")
- Monica: obsessive-compulsive disorder (VERY MUCH SO.); obsession with people-pleasing (again, very much so); excessive competitiveness; tendency to sing "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, I've Got Love In My Tummy"; problematic drunk ("Your little Harmonica is HAMMERED!")
- Chandler (ahh, saving the best for last): I relate to Chandler the most out of the whole cast. Being questioned over sexuality (Chandler: "If I were a guy...Did I just say, 'If I were a guy?'"; Mart [from AAAAGES ago]: "I can admit when another guy is hot."/"Mart's a fag lol" *cough*); sarcasm (Chandler: "Could [noun(s)] BE any more [adjective]?"; Mart: "OH! Not enough [insert true remark here]!/Too much [insert false remark here]!"); immaturity ("Pheebs! Play with meeeeee!"); tendency to be the immature one when it comes to relationships; inability to correctly pronounce onomatopoeia ("WHAPAH!"); dorkiness/geekiness around girls; tendency to mock other people, but unable to take punishment when it's dished back; sarcasm as a defense mechanism ("Okay, that's like the least fun game ever.")
Ahh, blogging. Such an easy way to kill a night. Anyways, over and out.
- marty..
END COMMUNICATION.
