So play the resurrector, and give the dead some life.

First proper post on the new blog. I realise November has been completely barebones so far, but it's with good reason. Whilst studying for my finals, I decided to get a Blogspot so that I could have all of my previous blog entries in one place, organised and tagged and everything. Three weeks worth of arduous copying, pasting, re-linking and re-imaging later, here it finally is.

I'm happy to have everything neat and tidy, but I wish Blogger had more/better themes to choose from. Well, they do have a couple of dope ones, but they mess with my formatting too much. And we all know how much I love it when my format gets murked. Expect a billion more template changes in the near future.

There are only a few things that can rouse me from my blog dormancy. One of them is Kanye Omari West. I've been listening to 808s and Heartbreak over the last couple of days. I can definitely see where all the haters are gonna be coming from. In my most hateriffic tone:

"AUTO-TUNE?! THAT SHIT IS WACK!"
"Why do all the songs sound the same?"
"Kanye's so emo nowadays!"

Ahem. Let them hate. I'm still jocking this album, for a number of reasons:
  • I have love for Yeezy. It comes from being a fan of his work over the last five years. It's the same kind of love I show for HBK, Jigga or Mamba. They may say/do some fucked up shit, but I just kinda acknowledge it and move on. Call me stubborn, but it doesn't shake my faith in them.
  • I'm pretty emo myself, so the vibe of the album, I can ride with. It doesn't bug me, 'cause he makes it sound so sincere and heartfelt. The voice may be Auto-Tune, but the message sure ain't.
  • Best of all, it's a GOOD album. The lyrics may not be as sharp as they were in his previous albums, but he makes up for it by being completely honest in what he says, as well as being one of the most sonically proficient musicians today. He just lets go, and it shows. In a good way.
Anyways, over and out.

END COMMUNICATION.
