Stolen from my 12-year-old cousin. No, really.

He's a crackup. I never realised how defensive a near-teenager could be, but now that I think about it, I was a lot like him back when I was his age. We were both out to prove our masculinity and maturity, so we took every chance we could to look down on girly/childish things. He reminds me of myself in so many ways, it's kinda scary. I hope I get to play the big brother role with him someday.

Anyways, it's weird that he actually answered this survey; it's obvious from his responses (i.e. the numerous variations on "What's that?") that a lot of the items were meant for an older audience. Hence, why I'm stealing this from his Multiply and answering it myself.


001. Were you ever obsessed with Pokémon?
'Were' would imply past tense. I'm still fairly obsessed with it. When they first came out, whoooo boy. I was the consummate Pokénerd. Games, cards, toys, books, everything. It was my life back then. Now it's just a small part of my travelling time. Haha!

002. Did you think Digimon was a cheap rip-off of Pokémon?
Kinda. This is why I didn't really get into it as much.

003. Hell, are you still obsessed with Pokemon?
Yes, ma'am.

004. Did you ever have nightmares from 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?'?
Never used to watch it.

005. Did you collect pogs?
Yeah. I had a tube for them and everything. Someone bought me a bunch from America. I never really used to play, though.

006. Did you ever get in trouble for trading cards in school?
I never actually got in trouble, but Pokémon cards were a big deal back in Year 6; they ultimately ended up getting banned.

007. Were you obsessed with the Spice Girls?
Yeah. ROFL.

008. What about 'N Sync or the Backstreet Boys?
Backstreet Boys more than 'N Sync.

009. Or maybe Britney Spears?
In a "major crush" way, yeah. 1999-2000 Britney = one of the hottest girls ever. EVER.

010. What was your favorite song by her?
Toxic. But that was one of her later ones.

Too Much.

Back then? It was close, but I'd vouch for...Dexter's Lab, maybe. Too many to choose from!

013. Did you start to hate the snowplow guys because of the movie 'Snow Day'?
Okay, I might be too old for this movie.

014. Did you own one of those shirts that looked really small but they stretched to fit whatever body size?
Nope.

015. Did you only used to wear stretch pants with the patterns on them?
Nope.

016. Was light-up sneakers the only way to go?
Heeelllls, no. Was I the only one that didn't want a pair of these? My sneaker game was tighter than that.

017. You still call them 'bell bottoms' and not 'flared jeans':
Naw, I call 'em flares.

018. Before you had internet, what did you do to entertain yourself?
Oh, way back? Basketball, PlayStation, toys, TV, playing outside, bike-riding. How the hell did I end up as a festively plump kid if I did all these activities? Oh, that's right, pork chops and rice.

019. Did you ever get ditched when you were little?
Yeah, my folks used to find it funny. "Ha ha, VERY FUNNY MUTHAFUCKA!"

020. Did you use big words without knowing their meaning?
Most of the time I knew what they meant. Shift+F7 made sure of that. HAHA.

021. Was everyone in your neighborhood friends with each other?
Naw, there were always groups. I used to give a lot of people grief back then. DEVIL CHILD!

022. Did you ever dress all mis-matched because you thought it looked good?
Hells naw. My folks and my brother wouldn't let me.

In a way, yeah. I just needed to prove my superiority over "girly crap."

Crybaby (What up, Fonz!).

025. Were you bullied?
Not really. Fonz used to pick on me, but that's typical brother stuff. Nothing that really scarred me or anything.

026. Did the older kids always try to steal your stuff?
Only when I brought my Pokémon cards to school. Dang.

027. What was your curfew as a kid?
Sleeptime used to be 9PM. Eventually I got it up to 11PM. By Year 7, curfews were a thing of the past. My folks would scream at me to sleep, but I never really listened. Hooray for the start of my nocturnal habits!

028. Did you spend all your afternoons outside?
Yeah. I was an outside-y kid back then.

029. Do you remember when those scooters with the gel-like transparent wheels were the best thing since sliced bread?
When they came out, everyone was into 'em. I wanted one, but I never got it. Oh well.

030. Was a nightlight a necessity for your room?
Not really. A TV was, though.

031. Did you listen to z100 all day long?
Nope. What IS that?

032. When you went to McDonald's, did you always have to go in the play place?
Naw. Straight to the counter for my dose of cholesterol, thanks.

033. Was getting clothes for Christmas the ultimate nightmare?
YEAH. As soon as I felt that my gift was soft, I'd throw it to the bottom of the pile. I'll open them clothes later. Toys first!

034. Did you collect Beanie Babies?
Naw. My cousin had a huge collection though (What up, Mich!).

035. Did you watch Toonami?
A bit. I was getting kinda old by the time it came out though.

036. When did your parents (or whoever) break the news to you that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, etc weren't real?
They didn't have to tell me. I eventually just figured it out.

Umm.

038. Did you always have a dollar handy just incase the ice cream man stopped by?
Naw. I just used to rush inside and ask for money.

Not at the sight. The pain, yes. And the fact that it signalled an ass-whuppin' comin' from my Pops. Hahaha!

040. Were you always covered in cuts, bruises and mosquito bites from always being outside?
Not covered, really. But I had my fair share. Bike stacks were the worst!

041. What age did you learn to tie your shoes?
I think I was about...six? Seven?

Nope. Unless it was chocolate milk. Mmmm, Sustagen.

043. Did you ever think you could get sucked down the drain in your bathtub?
No, no. None of that.

Nope. Never watched.
